Individual Toned Lumen Prints
These images are created using the lumen printing process, a camera-less photographic technique in which dried and pressed tulips are placed directly onto light-sensitive photographic paper and exposed to strong light over an extended period. The pressed flowers partially block and filter the light creating luminous botanical x-rays; shaped by time, light, and the physical structure of the flowers themselves.
Through toning, the prints are given a bright blue hue, a colour the flower can never naturally bloom—an imagined meadow suspended somewhere between botany, memory, and light.
